Reclaim Your Health

All my life I was active.  Fit.  I took things for granted.

Playing sports, riding my bicycle, running, hiking — I felt like I could do anything.

Then age started catching up with me, and health problems followed.  First came high blood pressure. Then a minor stroke. If that wasn’t enough, I eventually needed a hip replacement. But during my final checkup before surgery, doctors discovered I had Afib.
At their recommendation, I underwent a heart ablation procedure, and thankfully it helped.

For a while, it felt like my body was betraying me.  Giving up.  Activities that once had come naturally became difficult or even impossible. Exercise became limited. I gained too much weight. Officially, I was obese — something I never imagined would happen to me.
That became my turning point.

I realized a large part of my problems were connected to the habits I had developed over time:

  • poor nutrition,

  • lack of movement,

  • stress,

  • weight gain,

  • and not taking recovery seriously enough.

So, I decided to do something about it.  I changed my diet.  I reduced alcohol and sugar.
And I started exercising again.  Now, more than 20 pounds lighter, I can finally do things again.

But this journey became about more than just losing weight. It became about understanding wellness and learning how to create a healthier future.

That’s where Capon River Wellness comes in.

I started studying ways to improve my health naturally:

  • healthy eating,

  • movement,

  • recovery,

  • stress reduction,

  • sleep,

  • and overall wellness.

One obvious direction was nutrition. That led me to microgreens — small plants packed with nutrients. Then I discovered moringa, often called “The Miracle Tree,” because of its incredible nutritional profile.

I also learned about infrared saunas and the amazing benefits they may provide for:

  • relaxation,

  • recovery,

  • circulation,

  • stress reduction,

  • and overall wellness.

Little by little, I began rebuilding.  This isn’t about perfection.  It isn’t about becoming a fitness model.
And it’s not about pretending aging doesn’t exist.

It’s about reclaiming health, improving quality of life, and becoming stronger than yesterday — one step at a time.
Today I’m walking more, moving better, feeling healthier, and focused on creating a life centered around wellness, recovery, nutrition, and active living.

Now I’m on a path to reclaim my health.
